Langkawi Walk The Doc 2022 International Documentary Festival Forum took place in Langkawi Island from 22 – 24 August 2022 at Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang. The 3 day event was filled with insightful masterclasses, workshops and talks featuring prominent experts from the field of factual and digital content from around the world. There were also a curated screenings of stories from Walkabout Asia and the festival’s Official Selection featuring local and international submissions. The festival closed with an Award Dinner Night, celebrating the winners of the Documentary Film Competition.
For the competition, there were more than 70 submissions from 15 countries. These stories are judged by an international panel of experienced documentary filmmakers and producers namely Hakim Amir of Harimau Entertainment (Malaysia), Director of Programming for the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Yasu Nagahata, Founder of AJ+ as well as Director of Digital for Türkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu (TRT) Riyaad Minty, and Eduard Chizhikov who is Head of RT360 from Russia Today (RT).
